I've got a Samsung Galaxy S3 running Android 4.4.2 and am thinking of running the onboard encryption (as opposed to installing an encryption app). I'm hearing lots of different things about this. My questions are:
1) I currently use a pattern screen lock. It sounds like this can't be used for encryption and a keyboard entered pin must be used. Is this true?
2) Can anyone who has implemented S3 encryption comment on the performance hit?
Any other comments would be welcome. Thanks!
