Help S3 lock screen shortcut issue

Vaheelius

Lurker
So everything was fine with my s3 until yesterday when I noticed my phone app was missing from my shortcut bar. I tried going into security.. Lock screen options to make sure it was still there and sure enough it was showing up in the settings menu but not showing on the actual home screen. So I deleted all the shortcuts.. Restarted my phone but now it seems none of them are showing up.. They only show up when the phone is actually locked but they disappear once you unlock the phone so the only icon showing the lower shortcut tray is the apps menu. Has this happened to anyone else? Please help this is so annoying.. Hope this makes sense

The lockscreen shortcuts and the shortcuts on the Homescreen are separate. Setup the homescreen shortcuts again by opening the Apps drawer and dragging the apps you want onto the homescreen image that appears.

Hi thanks for the response.. Yes I know that they are different but the icons I'm referring to are the ones at the very bottom of the home screen. You can't drag any icons in that area cuz the trash bin, info icon, etc are there.. You can only select them in the lock screen shortcut Page under security settings. Like I said they were there but something happened and they are no longer there the only thing I can't think of is that my software is corrupt....

You have to drag them onto your home screen first, then drag them from your home screen into the bar at the bottom.

The lock screen options menu has nothing to do with it.

Wow Ok thanks now I got it. Could of sworn I tried this... Thanks I was under the impression that that area could only be populated under the lock screen settings. Anyway thanks you both for enlightening me... I'm coming from an iphone what do u expect ;)

No probs :) there's definitely a bit of a learning curve as Android has a plethora of customisation options.

There's lots of knowledgeable people on here to help out though, bookmark us! :D
