s3 still on 4.0.4 software

I have a galaxy s3 from Verizon and I still have the software 4.0.4. When I go to About Device and click on software update, then check new it says "To check for system updates, go to settings>About devise when service is available. I have on my wifi and my 4g, yet it always says that.

Take it in to VZW.

As long as you're on WI-FI & have over 50% charge on the battery,any OTA (over the air) updates that are available should download.

But,before you do that,try this:

Go to SETTINGS > APPLICATIONS (APPLICATION MANAGER) > ALL
Then scroll down to GOOGLE SERVICES FRAMEWORK.Clear cache/data, & force stop.

Then,go back & check for updates as usual.Don't be alarmed if you see a date of DECEMBER 31,1969.This will go away after you check for updates.

If an update isn't pushed immediately,give it an hour or so,If still no update is available,contact VZW &/or SAMSUNG.
