S4 Or Note2 Or Note3?

OK, so I'm going to post this in several threads. So I have the HTC DNA and I love it. But I do want the S4...or maybe the Note 2. I thought I was set on doing the S4 until a friend of mine told me that the Note 2 had better battery life than the S4. So I'm back to square one on which to get. I'm not due for my upgrade until Jan. But I really want to get a bead on which way to go. I know that unpacked for the Note 3 will be in September. I suppose I will have more info then on that at least. But I wanted everyone elses opinion. I want to be able to write on my phone for my little league baseball team stuff. But if that's the only difference with the Note 2 and S4 other than screen then I'm good with either one. I like the non touch things the S4 can do but the Note 2 can't. Anyways you all get the idea of what I'm asking here.

First of all, VERSUS.com is a best site for side-by-side comparison.

And here, is my and only, personal opinion, which do not apply to others.

I have all the galaxies, from S2 to S3, Note and now Note 2, along with the S4 LTE.

I would never again buy the Note series, simply because the phone proved itself not suitable for my lifestyle. While I truly enjoy watching YouTube and surf web, I did find it way too big for day-in-day-out use.
I spent fair amount of time outdoor, and it's simply too large to lug it around, whether I cycle or try to use it with one hand, when walking and texting, or flip the cover open and answer a call with one hand, when the other is holding something else.

No, I don't have freakishly small hands :)

I do like the Note 2, and I wipe the dust off the phone now and then, to surf web while my S4 is charging. And I must say, the note 2 has spectacular battery life. A heavy use would never take the phone below 50% (top 40%) by the end of the day. But it's just too big. I love the S4, it's perfect size, not too small and not too big. Just right.

Again, that's only my opinion. I know quite many people super satisfied with the phone. I seriously suggest, go to the store, and just play around. Open an app, like Youtube or a game, try to navigate, see how you feel about it. Then to the same with another device.

One reason I wouldn't get the Note 2 now, is because Note 3 is a month away from release, so you pretty much get new phone but outdated specs, plus I do enjoy the Android 4.2 and S4 new features way too much, to wait for the end year 4.3 update. Getting note 2 today = outdated hardware and not the latest firmware (for now).
Get the S4 or wait for the Note 3.

Do let us know what device you end up with :)

By the time I get either of the phones I mentioned they will probably all end up with an update other than the note 3. I'm going to say something that most people won't like but I really don't like you tube. I've never been a fan. I don't use GPS, you tube or music on my phone. An average normal day of use on my phone consists of many many many many texts, playing a game or two, maybe one to two 20 minute phone calls, a few visits each to facebook and Twitter. That's it. Really it is. Lol. My friend has the note 2, and I've played with it on several occasions. His is with AT&T but it's still the same phone basically as on Verizon. So, I'm thinking I'll look more into the note 3 and S4 come closer to Jan. If it's quad core, snap dragon, has the no touch features of the S4 then the note 3 will be choice. Battery life will have to be factored in too.

And for the record I get what you are saying about the phones in general. My wife has the S3 and while she loves it, I think my DNA is way better in many ways. Another part of my decision is to take away the need for my kindle fire. I don't read books on it. I use it just like a tablet really but it's not set up like a normal android tablet and I don't know how to change it to be set up like one so I want to give it over to my wife. She would enjoy it far more than I do.

For the purposes you use your phone for, I would recommend the Note 2.
The S4 is a very nice phone, but for the screen real estate for games and texting/writing you can't beat the Note 2, and the battery life is a bit better than the S4. Waiting for the Note 3 is always an option, but there is no way to tell about how good the battery life will be until it has been out for a few weeks.

Again, I'm not due until Jan for an upgrade so I'm hoping with the unpack date of Sept 4th that it will be available by Thanksgiving and will be done with most of the usual bugs that the first batch has in most phones so that I can be confident with it comes time for me to get one.
