S5 Active software upgrade

Hi all, I am using a unlocked S5 active from AT&T on Metro pcs. it has Lollipop 5.0 how can I upgrade the software to marshmallow 5.0 or higher. every time I go to... settings, general, about device, software updates, check for updates..... it says current software is up to date.
is there somehow to redirect it from checking the AT&T update page to MetroPCS.
or can manually upgrade the software from another place
TIA

Unlike all other Samsung Galaxy S5 phones, worldwide, both AT&T and Verizon models are not updated by Samsung but rather by their respective carriers, themselves. See #1.6 of 42 Galaxy S5 models - Dummies Guide. This means that unless you are connected and registered on the AT&T network, you will not receive updates. Also, just to make things more interesting, AT&T, unlike Verizon, choose not to make their firmwares available through the usual Samsung sources, to be flashed via Odin. Basically, you will need to scour the web to see if someone has uploaded the latest Galaxy S5 Active firmware in a flashable format. Alternatively, you can buy a PAYG card for AT&T and use that to update. You cannot flash any other firmware to your model of phone, either.

You can download the OTA updates from here
http://forum.xda-developers.com/att-galaxy-s5/general/g870a-ota-updates-g870a-g870aucu1boc5-t3471515
And install them with the stock recovery. I have updated several this way. Recommended downloading and installing one at a time in the order that they were released.
Basically, you download the file, rename it to "update.zip" without the quotes, copy it to your SD card, boot into recovery and select Apply Update from external sources, locate the file that you renamed and select it.
