s5 camera sucks

Why does the camera on my s5 suck? The pictures are always grainy and blurry. Also cant take pics of close up objects, wont zoom in. The s3 camera was great compared to this. I can take great pics if I use snap chat which leads me to believe its software related. Thoughts? HELP!!!!

I've always been pretty amazed by my S5 camera. My photographer friend is also very surprised by these quality of my pictures.
I have selective focus off, low light detection on, no effects, HDR on or off depending on what I'm shooting, auto-white balance, face detection off. The last setting for Reset Settings could be tried to see if you have any settings out of whack.
I'm sure you have but make sure the lens is clean.

I don't usually take pictures with my phone, but on the rare occasions when I do I find it surprisingly good (for a mobile phone, that is).

The stock camera in my S5 runs circles around my Sony DSLR ( about 6 years old now )

If the camera's settings are set up properly, it can perform extremely well.
It is way better than my Sony DSLR for low light work.

And the Auto Focusing is eons better than the DSLR....
there have been amazing strides made in camera software, and the S5 shows it off well.

I suggest you reset your camera to the stock settings and then tweek it a bit for a feature you want to improve.

I've been thoroughly impressed with the S5 camera. I use the settings below:
