S5 lock screen

Being new to android, I was expecting I would be able to customize the crap out of the lock screen on the S5.

So far, this doesn't appear to be the case. In fact, my limited research indicates that earlier versions of the Galaxy allowed far more customization.

Am I missing something?

I don't think so.

The S5 removed a lot of the features that are present on my 'S' version.
Yes, 'S' and in the first one made.

That 'S' phone is still being used... it has WiFi running, all of the bogus apps are killed and not running.

It has Alarm Clock Plus installed on it and is a backup in case I over sleep my wake up alarm clock... being late to work is NOT an option where I work.
