Help S5: lollipop 5.1.1?

A couple of questions ... Is the phone branded by a carrier? Have you modified it all? Is it a U.S. version of the phone? Check the model number as a lot of the international S5's are still on 5.0.
 
Verizon. Turns out they didnt offer the update, but at&t did. Why?

Let's see ...

  1. They are still working on it.
  2. Technical issues with 5.1.1 and CDMA networks that they can't resolve.
  3. They determined that 5.1.1 adds little or no value to the S5
  4. AT&T engineers are smarter than Verizon engineers.
  5. Verizon doesn't care about customers.
  6. They are greedy b@st@rds who hope they can force you to upgrade sooner by withholding updates.
  7. All of the above.

Take your pick. ;)

And, sorry to make light of your frustration. We've all been here in some form. Honestly, without any direct communication from VZW, there's no way of knowing why. Frankly, I wouldn't expect them ever to give consumers that information, it would probably be a public relations nightmare for them.
