S5 on T-Mobile

Just wondering if any of you guys had the S5 on T-Mobile and if so are you able to update your phone consistently? Awhile back I had the S5 that I bought unlocked for T-Mobile which came with Android 4.2.2 and it was extremely buggy. Especially youtube kept constantly freezing. Not knowing I could probably update it I returned it and got my money back. I'm on an S3 now and is it worth it in the long run to go with the S5?

Has anyone been able to update your software for the S5 on T-Mobile to 4.4.4 or even 5.50?

I have a Metro S5 which runs on nearly identical firmware to the T-mo version. It's on 4.4.2 and I haven't had any problems with it. I did root it but still on the stock ROM.
I did see a report that T-Mobile had released a 5.0 update but I haven't heard anything else about it. Metro has not sent out a 5.0 update AFAIK and I probably wouldn't take it anyway if they did.

I would honestly love to have Android 5.0. I was playing with it on the S6 at the store and it seemed very smooth running, especially youtube. I don't know how smooth running it would be on the S5 as I heard it has some bugs.

Yes be careful what you wish for- ;)
There have been major issues with some 5.0 releases, most notably Verizon's. Many people who got that one immediately wanted to go back to KitKat.
The T-Mo 5.0 may not be quite that evil but even so you may want to do some reading on the feature changes between KitKat and Lollipop. Newer isn't always better.

So it's different for a phone that's released with it out of the box and a phone that's updated to it?

Should be the same, although sometimes an update to a phone with an older firmware can cause issues. In many cases when that happens it can be fixed by doing a factory reset post-update.

I wonder what version of Android my S5 will come with right out of the box? That'd be great if it actually came with 5.0 but I doubt it will.

Little bump.... Got my phone today. I'm really surprised that my phone came with Android 5.0 right out of the box.
