S5 Qi receiver charging problem

Hi I just purchased a qi reciever + charger for my galaxy s5.Ive run into a problem whenever I place the s5 onto the charging plate it charges and then quickly turns off stops charging and then it turns back on to charge again. This is annoying and it doesnt seem to charge properly wastes battery turning on the screen each time it charges only to have it turn off again. There was no double sided tape on the qi charger so I used sticky tape. I also noticed the connector wasnt touching properly so I folded abit of cardboard and pressed down and stuck tape over it - in order for the contacts to touch.
But even after I stuck cardboard to the connector when I place it on the charging plate it keeps turning off and on. Could someone here give me some advice on how I can fix this problem? Or is it a problem with my qi receiver? I also brought a qi receiver for my galaxy s3. It works perfectly n charges. I also used tape to connect the qi receiver to the s3 battery. So im not sure how to get it working on my s5

Hi Azndude,
Please don't take this the wrong way but are you sure you have a genuine QI receiver as the one i purchased for my S3 had sticky backed tape fitted and worked perfectly ok, but for my S5 i purchased the Samsung S case with the QI receiver built in, you just remove the backcover and clip the handset onto the case so the case becomes the backcover. Beware though there are 2 versions one with and one without the receiver.
