S5 update to lollipop

Seems like the 1st rollout of lollipop had issues but now Verizon has a new version to install that is said to be improved. Still have factory original operating system on my s5. I'm planning on going to straight talk next month and using this phone. Should I upgrade to the newest lollipop updated before leaving Verizon? Or is there a custom rom that keeps touch whiz that would be better?

I've never been subscribed to an MVNO but wouldn't StraightTalk push the Lollipop update down? Or maybe you'd still get it from VZW since they own the piped. I would think they wouldn't leave users in the dark.

I would highly advise you to not accept the Verizon Lollipop update, it has caused more problems than any other Android OS in my memory.

I have it, and not because I wanted it.... it was forced on me, and it is putrid... I am pastel color blind and 5.0 stinks for me, I can't see half of the screens because they are all washed out.

The "new release" is the same as the "old release" except that VZW feels that we are being deprived of not having enough advertisements and Bloatware store fronts.... I turned off Galaxy App Store when I first saw that POS stuff... and now, VZW wants to push it on us and make it impossible to turn it off.

I have heard that Straight Talk will not be issuing any updates. So, if you have 4.4.4 or under, that will still be on your phone unless you install a new version yourself.
