S6 charging to 100% issue

I purchased a used s6 from a friend with a cracked back, and he said it didn't hold a charge well. I decided to replace the battery when I replaced the cracked back. I updated it to 6.0.1 via the verizon update app to make sure it wasn't the OS.

It all works well, but for some reason it won't charge past ~85%, even with the phone off. I have tried factory resets, calibrating by running it dead and charging it again, but no luck. The battery is a brand new official samsung battery.

I confirmed with an app that the battery is charging to 4.3v, and stays when unplugged, but the phone still reports 85%. When I let it discharge, it stayed at 85% for a whole day before it even started going down normally. The voltage drop curve when discharging is correct, but the % associated with the voltage is not.

Any ideas? I am using the same charger/cord that I use with my s7, which is the official charging combo.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

It's a common problem, I randomly have this issue accross my phones. It says 85%, 89% or whatever but the battery is in fact fully charged.

Just use your phone normally until it shutdowns and charge it to full again, the problem will fix itself.
