S7 battery drain

Craig554

Lurker
Gone from 80 to 70 % in 15 minutes just watching online. Nothing else open. Ran the device maintaince and Didn't say anything bad about battery. Any idea please

That does seem a little excessive but depending on just what you were watching online maybe not. The screen being on that whole time is a big drain no matter what, plus if the content involved a lot of graphics usage the CPU and GPU could have been taxed quite a bit too, especially if it was higher res video. Plus we don't know what apps/processes might have been running in the background. What were you viewing at the time?

Just live sport event
It's nor much better this morning going down 8% just browsing in 40 minutes
Any way I can check ways going on?

If you take a look into your S7's Settings menu there's a 'Battery' selection. It will show you a basic run-down of what apps and services were actively using up battery power. You'll probably see the Android OS and the screen using up a lot of power, if you were just leaving your phone alone as is and the battery was being drained that quickly, that would be an issue to look into but if you're actively and constantly using it for 40 minutes, at some point you have to expect the battery charge to go down. The screen being lit the entire time and different system resources being used simply need power.

The highest was twitter at 0.6% a hour all the rest were 0.1% is that ok?
Ive had the phone 18 months Should I be concerned about normal battery deterioration?

I don't really get a sense there's a significant problem, but then again I'm probably not the best one to ask about the matter. I stopped fixating on micro-managing my battery usage a long time ago when I realized my phone didn't own me, I owned it.
