S7 Browser 'Auto-complete' - Disable???

I'm trying to log into Microsoft and download an ISO of the O/S I have on my laptop. Everything legal, no pirating. MS offers the ISO file of your O/S if you purchased it already installed with no OEM install disk. Everything goes fine until I'm asked to fill in the 25 digit product key. When I try, the S7 browser scrambles the numbers & letters. I'm typing them in correctly, but they are out of order.

Is there some 'auto-complete' or other function that can be disabled and allow me to punch in random numbers/letters???

Thank You! :D

I assume you are speaking of a PC browser? You titled it S7 browser.... still should be in settings.
but, why use a cell phone to download an ISO?
is the PC already bonkers?

yes, it is in the settings somewhere, in a different place for each browser app.

Turn OFF History, that will stop some of that.

Thanks for your reply!
No, the default browser on my Galaxy S7. My PC is on a dial-up connection, no broadband where I live, and my phone is much faster than dial-up.

That would be logical. But how do I access the S7 settings for the browser? The users manual has nothing to say about settings, or where to find them. I moved up to the S7 from a BlackBerry 9630 Tour, which is completely different.

It's faster than my PC. My PC is a full tower, can't really lug it into my local library and use their WiFi. But if I get the ISO for my version of Windows, I can disable the RAM requirement and load 7, 8.1, and even 10 if I want. But my motherboard doesn't support the humongous amount of RAM that the newer bloated versions of Windows 'require', even though they will run fine with 640MB of RAM.

I'm perfectly happy with WinXP but if I want to run a DSL line over my telco connection I need Win 7 or higher. That's just the way the telco people demand it.

The S7 is just a handier way to do it. I'm retired now and rarely see the guys/girls who have portable PCs, but eventually I'll get together with someone and visit the library with a laptop and download the ISO and bring it home. It'd just be handier and quicker to get it done now rather than later.

I like the S7. I've downloaded several programs with it - SmartSwitch for example. Saves me gas money. Today I did go to the library and while I couldn't get the ISO I did get the unofficial Service Pack 4 for WinXP. Eventually I'll plug away at the S7 and get it to where I'm comfortable with it. Then it'll be time for something else. :)

Uh, no, I am running AT&T ADSL and I use everything on it, cellphones, Win7, WinXP, Linux, and an 8 year old Apple G4 laptop that is slower than molasses in February, but it works. your internet provider cannot force you to use a certain type of OS. against the law.

Okay, totally understand, and in your circumstances, XP is the best way to go, works perfectly well for you, small foot print.

but I highly advise that you install "Never10"

Now, how about you install Linux Mint vs 18 Cinnamon Desktop.
It has a Windows style GUI, every windows command you can think of is in Cinnamon desktop. that is what I am using right now on my laptop.... it will install on the Desktop in a flash, and it will run about 5 times faster than XP.

This is the 32 bit version which will run on your Desktop.

it is one awesome package.... I am a died in the wool Windows user/IT support, but this Cinnamon is winning me over.

Honestly, after seeing you only have less than a gig of RAM, I'd say just shell out for a new PC. Decent ones can be had for half the price of an S7.

Could you type it in to an email/notepad app, copy it, then paste it into the field on the MS website? See if that works?

Much cheaper than needlessly forking out on a new laptop and easier than installing Linux.

There seems to be a lot of confusion about my original question...
I'm attaching a pic...The number outlined at the top is the number I'm typing in...But the number in the 'Product Key' box is scrambled...

I've set 'Save sign-in info' and 'Suggest searches' in Settings/Advanced/Privacy to Off but it hasn't helped...

I noticed that my bank account password gets scrambled also, making that useless...

So...Are there any suggestions related to the Galaxy S7 default browser???

Thank You!
