S7 camera lens spontaneously cracked

I searched and couldn't find a thread, strangely, as it seems it's not just me with this issue https://us.community.samsung.com/t5...GalaxyS/thread-id/12286/highlight/true/page/2

Samsung support wouldn't fix it under warranty and I was told to post a letter(!) to customer services. I'm awaiting a response.

I didn't drop it or anything - it's 1 month old.

I just bought an S7 and all these reports have my slightly concerned. But consider that if you purchased the device with a credit card, it may be covered by some sort of purchase protection that may cover accidental damage.

Obviously it hasn't happened to everyone or there would be more reports. Fingers crossed for you. Smashing phone otherwise, no pun intended.

I read that they are blaming in on the phone case you add to your phone. they say it is squeezing the sides and making the lens crack.

"I very much regret to learn that your device has suffered physical damage. At Samsung we take all necessary quality assurance measures to minimise the risk of potential manufacture defects.

The issue you have highlighted in your email does not appear to be the result of a manufacture defect. Providing the device is used within our recommended operating conditions, this specific issue should not occur. As such this case is classed as physical damage which is not covered under the Samsung manufacturer warranty. Your Samsung warranty covers your device against manufacture defects but not physical or accidental damage."

Brilliant.

After all is your fault, u are the person wich bring out the phone form the box. Probably this phone is not intend to be used, but stay in the box perfectly. So is a kind of accidental damage taking the phone from the box :) Is a known fact: out of the box the phone is very vunerable, dont take it out
Sorry for your experience
