S7 can't receive calls.

My S7 can't receive calls after it's first turned on unless I make a call first. Perhaps there's a setting I'm missing.

Once you make a call, is it okay until you reboot the phone? Until the phone goes to sleep? or just randomly loses the connection?

I would think you're phone is having trouble with the lower bands. It's either a defect as @Dannydet suggested or your sim is improperly provisioned.

I tested it. It works fine until I reboot it. Incidentally, I use Verizon via Walmart's Straighttalk.

I've never experienced the problem myself but I'd guess it's a problem with your phone app. I'd try going to settings, apps, three dots top right, show system apps. Then you need to choose these apps and go to storage and choose clear data. The first one is com.sec.phone, the others are all called Phone. I've got 3 called the same, you might have one or 2. It won't delete any of your contacts or anything but the phone app might hang for a few seconds when you next open it.

Out of curiosity do you have the same problem if you downloaded a third party dialer from the Play Store?
