S7 Edge Contact Sync

Ok, I have a question.
I have an S7 Edge and I have all my personal and work contacts on Outlook.
I want to add new contacts to my Outlook account, not my phone.
I have tried numerous apps and called Samsung..
But I cannot get my contacts to sync
Nor can I add favorites.
I am wondering if this is a common issue or am I just ignorant.

1. Add your Outlook account to the Email app on the phone.
2. Check email app settings and make sure contact sync is on.
3. On adding a contact, make sure you select Microsoft ActiveSync.
4. Profit.
