S8 camera issues

Hey guys, goping you may have either an answer or a fix. So recently I find the S8 when taking pictures...I will hear the click of the camera, but when I go back to look the picture is not there. Today is was many pictures. And each time I heard the shutter noise...but ended up with no pictures.

This is getting pretty frustrating so I'm hoping you guys have heard of this problem and maybe a fix. Thanks in advance for looking, Andrew.

I've not heard of this issue before. Here are a few things to try:

  • Restart your phone,
  • Check the remaining storage left on your device to make sure there is enough for the camera to function correctly,
  • Force stop and clear the data on the camera app
  • Check to see if your device is up to date with the latest software as fixes may come through via that method,
  • Also check the Samsung store to make sure the camera app is running the latest version.
Hope one of these helps @S8 user

Sorry to hear none of these worked for you. Try firing up the Samsung Members app (that you can find in the apps draw, Samsung folder) and create an account if you need to.

In there you can perform some device checks to make sure everything is functioning correctly. There is also a "Get Help" area off the main page at the bottom, here you can submit support tickets, get remote help etc from Samsung themselves. I have used this a few times and you normally get a reply in 48hrs. (Not including weekends!)

Worth a try is nobody else can suggest a solution.

The only other thing that you might check is the app that you are using to display your images. A long shot but it might not have handled the recent OS upgrade well.

If you go into My Files then either internal or external sd (depending where you save them) do they show in the DCMI folder?

Before you start tweaking settings in your phone, could you clarify as to just how you're determining those pictures you've taken don't exist? What app are you using? They could be residing in a folder, it's just that whatever app you're using isn't detecting them or is looking in a different directory. If you go into your Camera app's Settings menu there should be a default save location, typically a folder named, DCIM or Pictures. Check that directory to be sure there are no photos there before you start changing anything.
