Safe cpu setting

If i set cpu for on demand 98mhz-98mhz when screen is off....will it have enough power to screen on? Doing this to save batery. Whats the minimum cpu speed i shood have?

122-128Mhz to operate
245 Mhz for Wifi-3G
320Mhz for everything smooth

Screen off profiles are good only if you are a performance buff which means you have say 600Mhz performance all the time and 320 Mhz just to save some juice .
At 98/122 mhz your phone will take a severe performance hit .Lockscreen will hang and the power on button will not be as responsive as with 245/320 Mhz .So more time will be spent to switch on the phone .Not worth it .
