Safest ROM for the Avant..

Recently, my avant has been having problems such as random reboots, people not being able to hear me, and lag issues. I decided to look for a custom rom to flash but there isn't anything stable out yet. Which would be the safest way to go? The rom with the least bugs?

Here are two ROMs for the avant that are as close to being finished as they will ever be to the best of my knowledge. I personally have used Cyanogenmod 11 and it works great.

First of all sorry it took me so long to get back to you. Second, here is a link to The Open GApps Project once you are there you want to select your platform type, you want the android 4.4 version, and it is up to you which variant you select. And Last but not least I tried the AOKP build and it works like a charm so it up to you which you use.

Thanks for that! Unfortunately, i flashed AOKP before I read your message. I downloaded gapps from the AOKP website which gave me 4.4.2 gapps for AOKP 4.4.4. The AOKP rom seems more laggy than the stock rom. I'm trying to find a way to make it faster. I'll leave this post for future references in case anyone wants to flash the AOKP rom, they can come here and find a link to gapps, and both roms.

I've decided to flash cm11 because AOKP is just too slow now :/ Since you're on cm11, does YouTube and Snapchat work?

I am actually running Aokp but just fyi a version of cm 12.1 Is currently being made for the avant

Update: There may also be a cm 13 rom for avant in the works but I don't know.

Where'd you hear of the cm 13 rom for the Avant? I've been thinking of making/porting one, but that might save me the trouble.. (And I have no idea where to even begin...)

Anyway. I'm running the AOKP on my Avant and so far so good. It's been a touch laggy at me of late, but nothing too terrible. I know YouTube works but I don't know about Snapchat. I'm not on Snapchat much...

-Should I factory reset and re-flash aokp since It's giving me problems? Before i flashed it the first time, i forgot to wipe so I guess that's what messed me up...

Yes it would probably be safest to wipe and re-flash AOKP. Also did you flash the key fix zip with it?

I do have a question, where does one even begin when they want to build a rom? I've honestly been considering it, but I am so lost on where to begin.

I am not 100 percent sure of what it does but I'd assume it does something to the keymaster files

Kind of got this phone for free today and I would like to try one that allows me to use all of the phone's capabilities (I don't care about NFC)
