Same song keeps repeating, even when I press next button

The same song is stuck on repeat even if I press the next or previous button (shuffle mode). This doesn't happen when shuffle mode is off but I really prefer listening to music on shuffle.
I'm using my phone's music player.
Can anyone please help me? Feel free to leave any suggestions !!

I just tried it using Google's music player and shuffle advances the songs randomly. I guess it's a problem with your default player. You could try clearing the app cache in settings>apps>music or you could install a different music player app.

Make sure you're not in a playlist with ONE song. I hate that...
