Same video player, different name? Easy video, mobo and others?

Folks,
I'm an android newb and i'm looking at video players. I'm leaning towards mobo because it uses ffmpeg which i'm very familiar with.

However, i'm seeing other players like "easy video player" "summer time player" that have the same icon, almost the same wording on the market page and same player + codec arrangement. Are they all the same? Why the different names? Which one is the original? It makes me not trust it, and it seems to be different than a fork as i see in the desktop linux world (open office vs libre Office, myradb vs mysql)

Thanks

Thanks Harry2, i realize it's by a different group of developers, but it looks like people are just taking each other's work and slapping their own name on it, sometimes without even bothering to change the icon. Is this the case?
I just found another one. Bsplayer.

So we have Moboplayer (mobi team), easy video player (video team), bs player (ab team) and the descriptions read almost identically.

I don't get it. Why is this allowed to happen? I've been in the linux community for about 10 years now. Ive seen similar things happen a few times there and it gets shut down quickly.

hay guys, i have a few players that do mp4 and others files but none do flv formate. do anyone know if the MX Player or Mobo Player spoke of above is compatible with flv video files playback. thanks...

i still feel future android updates need an offical player that supports mp4 divx and flv etc files as standard but ive just downloaded MX Player and its extra codecs, works fine thanks. slight problem if i have other stuff like live wallpapers i get sound drop outs at random times. apart from that, which may be down to the speed of my mid priced gallaxy ace, its a great player.
