Have had the Samsung Epic 4G since July of 2010 and wanted to share the huge problem I have with the phone for those considering buying a used older version phone like mine. The problem: My phone cuts off 90% of calls unless I put it on speaker or bluetooth due to the sensitivity. If I have the phone anywhere near my ear or cheek, the call is dropped making the phone almost useless. Tried going into settings and changing the sensitivity but you cannot do it on this particular phone. Beleive me, I have taken it to Sprint and called Samsung trying to fix this. Went to Radio Shack as well and a representative there tells me that Samsung fixed this problem on later versions and hope that is the case. Being a former blackberry user, this phone was attractive due to the slideout keyboard.
Since my 2 yr. contract is about up, I am thinking of switching back to the blackberry as I like a real keyboard. Wished there was another option as the blackberry screen is so small for internet use. Would like to hear from some folks who may have the newer version of the Samsung Epic to see if this problem has been fixed.
Thanks.
