Samsung EVO SDXC 128gb

Hi.

I have the Note 8 & received the free microSDXC evo plus 128gb SD card. Problem is, I can't seem to save what I want to it. I first, dropped it in my note8 & attempted to copy from my windows 10 laptop & I kept getting device not found after maybe copying 1 dir. so I then tried to put the new Sd in the microSD adapter. Still no luck. Then I tried copying from my S4 to my Note8. No luck. I tried formatting it on the Note8, which formats it but copying. No luck.

Samsung memory support suggested I do a clean with DiskPart which works but attempts to format returns device not found.

I've came across a posting that indicated I needed to dwld & install 'Note8 USB drivers' but can't seem to locate them anywhere.

This has been very frustrating for a free gift for buying the Note8 that I would expect to just insert and transfer to it at will until 119gb is full.  Very frustrating.

Any help or direction you can provide would be greatly appreciated....

put the card in your computer and format it there.

then put it in the phone and let the phone format it.

if the phone or computer cant see it, the memory is faulty and should be replaced.

Go to device maintenance / SD card / hit the thrredot icon at the top, storage settings - SD card again eventually you'll arrive at MOUNT or UNMOUNT. If the phone is able to mount the card it kind of suggests the card is ok.

Does your card work in another machine? Just a thought.

Turns out, after trying just about everything.

The solution was to simply copy the all data/files from my old 64gb SD to my laptops HD. Then copy all the data/files to three NEW, Samsung 128gb SD.

All atempts to copy from SD to SD failed.
I even updated the Samsung Android ADB interface & Samsung Mobil USB composite device drivers. As well as various methods of formatting the new 128gb SD.

The solution was to simply copy the data to HD then copy data from HD to new 128gb SD.

It was even suggested, at another support site the these, free, Samsung 128gb SD card's were defective.
Not in this case.
Just needed to copy data from old SD to HD, then copy that data, from HD to new 128gb SD..

Good you figured it out. I made this suggestion in another similar thread.

Over the years of owing these devices, in my experience, the sure fire way of copying data from an old card (even from internal memory) was to use the computer to do it.

Hi marctronixx.
That's just the thing.
I WAS at all times USING my pc.
I just thought, I should be able to connect 2 phones to my laptops USB ports and copy easily from one to the other.

But only worked after copying from SD to HD. Then HD to new 128gb SD. I'm glad it worked, just not the elegant, 2017 modern method I wanted.
