I also have the Mega and I love it.
I originally wanted the Sprint Galaxy Note 3, but with it not being tri-band, i had to settle on other models and went into the store to compare between them. The Mega felt lighter than the HTC One Max and I didn't like the controls on the back of the LG model. The S4 is too small of a screen. So I decided to get the Mega. With most of the stuff that is on the Note 2 (minues the S-Pen) it was an easy choice.
As for Touchwiz, eh some like it some don't I just put on Nova Launcher and never have to see Touchwiz. Although in all honestly there are a few Touchwiz features that are pretty cool (even though most won't admit to it).

With its bigger size (it's closer to a tablet than a phone) most websites come in as desktop/tablet versions and watching videos or games on it is really nice.
Battery life is about the same (tad better) than the Note 2 and considering that there is more real estate to power that alone is impressive.
As for the other specs, its closer to the Note 2 than the Note 3.
I can't tell if its gorilla glass but the screen did crack when it decided to make out with the concrete floor the other day. lol So I got a replacement. Then again i don't think gorilla glass would protect any device from a 5 foot fall.
Apps run fine on it and i haven't experienced any lag, although I did notice a reboot on its own for no reason on the previous Mega i had, with this new replacement no issues whatsoever. But that could have also been an app that caused it to reboot.
Regardless of what color you get, the included accessories will be in white. (data cable, plug and headphones).
There is no S-Pen (which I miss) but Sprint (as well as Amazon) sells those wrist wrapped stylus that not only looks cool but functions quite well.
Try as you can, the phone cannot be used one handed. It doesn't bother me since I am used to the Note series and hold it in one hand and my other hand to flip through screens, pages and commands. There is a one handed operation but i have yet to use it.
It only has 16GB of memory but at least it has the option of putting apps on the SD Card which my Note 2 did not have unless you root it.
Speaking of root, the only way to root fast and easy in my opinion is via Kingo Root method, which is available via their website or on xda.
The device has multi-window and on the bigger screen it really is nice.
If you root it, i suggest to install xPosed installer (also at xda-developers) along with the Wanam Xposed module to fully make the device great.
For example, get any program to work in multiwindow, disable camera sounds and many more setting changes not available in stock mode.
It only has a 8MP camera but that is fine since it keeps the size of the pic smaller. I never understood the fascination with high resolution cameras on a phone anyway.
Bottom line, it's a keeper.
The only way I would not get another Mega would be if the Note 4 is triband (which it should be since anything beyond this point would be triband), has better features and or Samsung makes another Mega but with the s-Pen.
