My S2 speaker turns itself off during a call although the speak button is still actually green like it is turned on. Also sometimes when I receive or make calls I cannot hear the person on the other end but they can hear me. Any advice please. I really don't want to have to send my phone off for repairs.

Welcome to the forums orrahj. Try powering off your phone and restarting it on a weekly basis. When I first got my S2 I had that issue but since I started doing that I haven't had that issue. Also you want to be sure you have the latest official Samsung updates.
