Not sure of the solution but you could check if your mic is working by making a voice recording with the stock voice recorder app. If it's not the hardware is probably faulty and it should go back under warranty.
If the mic is working and not blocked by anything when you are calling them I can only suggest trying clearing the phone app cache then a hard reset. . But I really don't know
Another thing you could do to narrow down the problem is try using a headset, either wired or bluetooth, to see if they can hear you that way.
