samsung galaxy ace cyanogenmod 7.1 wifi problem

i've succesfully flashed up cyanogenmod 7.1 to my galaxy ace and everything seems to be fine.i installed my gapps through wifi without any probs.but after that,wifi simply doesnt connect.a custom ROM messes up te settings i guess,so how do i get it running?
