My Samsung Galaxy Ace is not switching on after installing ROM Manager!! I think it is a hard brick!! I know that this issue is familiar but has anyone fixed it by giving it to the service center? What do they do and how much will they charge me??

it happened with my Samsung galaxy ace as well. while trying to backup the current ROM using ROM manager. did we have any solution on this yet?

I too had this , but thing is im in the US of A, and my Ace is from the Netherlands. no support in the US, so its either expensive, long shipping to the Netherlands, or fix it in the US. No one helped me when I asked this :/
So anyways, for those of you who couldn't send your hard bricked Ace to Samsung, either different country or no warranty, try a JTAG repair. I used MobileTechVideos' in the US, total should be about ~$50 (8 bucks for shipping and 40 bucks for service) and should be done in less than 2 weeks. Just google MobileTechVideos, get on their selling site and look for Samsung Galaxy Ace. That's for US peeps, and for other people, as I said before, try to find a place that does JTAG repair. Good luck guys.

Next time, in Rom Manager, press Menu then Manual Flash Override. It won't brick your phone.

how is rom manager managing to brick phones? I am curious what its doing.

It installs a CWM recovery file which is not meant for the Ace as Ace is not officially supported.
So this in turn corrupts the bootloader and hence the phne does not start.
Only way to bring it back to life yourself is to use a high speed data cable and flash bootloader with jtag kit.
