samsung galaxy europa will not let me sent sms messages!!!!???

i recently brought a galaxy europa, it works fine apart from i cannot send sms text messages. i can recieve them though! I have restored factory settings, i have also tried to find my message centre number, but unable to find it; not even the option for it?? I have also tried someother trouble shooting option but no joy. i have been told its a fault with the phone. does anyone know how to correct this fault without having to send my phone off to samsung???? any any help or answers will be greatly appreciated. thanks
