samsung galaxy gear 1?

I heard that the samsung galaxy gear original (1st model) got an upgrade to tizen and can be used as a stand along music player now. Is this true? How many gigabytes of memory does it have?
 
it did, it is, and it has 4GB of internal storage

BUT...if you want to keep Android, you can easily root and ROM the thing and install a music player and just unload all your songs from the USB connection to a computer.
 
FYI I've got a Gear 1 that's rooted and flashed with the latest (and last) null ROM that I'm going to sell. It does a lot but for me it actually does too much. I prefer my smartwatch to be on the dumber side of the equation and basically just handle time/temp and notifications. The rooted Gear 1 is like having a mini-Android device on your wrist which is awesome if that's what you want. Turns out after a couple of weeks that that's not what I want. PM me if you're interested in the one I have which is basically new and rooted w/the black band.
