Help Samsung Galaxy Mega Metro Pcs Wifi tether

I have a metro pcs Samsung galaxy mega SGH-M819N and I'm currently paying for the $60 plan. Now i noticed they took wifi tethering out of the plan but I'm not sure why. I rooted my phone with Kingo Rooter so now my phone is rooted. Is there a way to be able to tether again with the root?
 
Tether blocking is done at their office, so nothing you can do on your phone to change it.
 
You sure? i seen a video on youtube of this guy swapping a couple of files in his root folder and granting access to the ability to make a mobile hotspot. it was an s4 for sprint though. So you're 100% sure there's nothing i can do? :/ i mean i'm paying for the highest plan and can't even get the features i once had.

You'd have to use one of the custom ROMs that has open tethering built in. if you do. MAKE SURE TO BACK UP YOUR STOCK ROM FIRST THING!!

Thank you for the information. So how exactly would i back up my own stock firmware? I wouldn't be able to download a Stock firmware for SGH-M819N from the internet and just have that in case something goes wrong or it doesn't work that way?

you have to have a custom recovery installed on the phone.

Download mode: you do this by turn off phone, hold down the power - volume down and home keys. it will vibrate than a WARNING!! screen comes up. Press your Volume up key to get into "Download Mode" than plug the phone into your computer.

Odin: Dev-Host - odin3.09.zip - The Ultimate Free File Hosting / File Sharing Service

Installing Recovery through odin: open odin, click the "BL" button find your recovery.tar select it. Click start. let odin do its thing. You should now have recovery!!!

To get into recovery after installing it, you hold down the power/volume up and home key. you'll see samsung galaxy splash screen with blue recovery in the upper left corner let go of the buttons. it will to into the recover. you'll see a number of selections. you want to select backup. Make sure you back up to an external sd card. to flash a new rom after. first select wipe. after it wipes than go back to the menu and select install. find where you put the rom's zip file and select it.

if you are in the homescreen you can use an app called quick reboot to get into recovery.

Thank You So Much Man!!!!!!! I did everything step by step and its working perfectly. It looks exactly like my phone did at first with stock firmware and now i can give off hotspot again! Thank you so much.

So in order to use tethering i have to pay ? Or with a custom rom can do the trick of getting tethering unblocked ?

with the metro pcs version. They have the tethering locked down. You'd have to pay extra for it. If you use a Custom ROM, the tethering is open. You don't have to pay.
 
which rom did you use for the SGH-M819N. Whats the name of the rom did you used to have wifi tethering with metro pcs and not have to pay. because I've been trying to find out which ROMs already have the wifi tethering on them for the Galaxy mega 6.3 SGH M919N

in the near future there will be megakat (custom Kitkat) for the Metro mega. He's working on it. will be a while though.
