Samsung Galaxy Portal Update?? Will It Happen? (UK)

for months 2.1 has been "on the way" but via NPC its still impossible to get 2.1 from Samsung.
Is it ever coming to the UK? or am i doing something wrong?

So i emailed Samsung, complaining about the lack of consistency in answers etc and here's what they said :

Thank you for contacting Samsung Electronics regarding the GT-i5700.

With handsets of this nature there are 3 main parties who have their inputs on the software. Google, who provide the underlying operating system, Samsung, who provide the interface and hardware and network providers, who also have their own branding and menu changes that they wishincluded on their branded handset versions.

For an update to be released all parties must agree on the final update.

In addition, because of the different layers involved, an update to the underlying operating system would require an update to the levels on top. Such updates do take some time to create and test.

At this stage we are unable to confirm when there will be an update however it is looking likely in the near future. Please keep checking Samsung Mobile UK - Home for more information, as any update would be announced there.

-.- its almost August, they've been saying "near future" since March. Also, as far as I'm aware T-mobile haven't branded this phone, have they?
