Samsung Galaxy S 2 Battery Life

SHello

I have a Samsung Galaxy S 2 which is 4 days old.

I have noticed that my battery consumption is high, I need to recharge my battery on a daily basis.

Are there any way of improving my battery life? If I update mu firmware, does it improves my battery life?

My version is as follows

Baseband I9100XXKF1 and phone model is GT-I9100

Any help is highly appreciable.

Thanks

I had the same problem. After replacing an updated firmware through Kies, it lasts for 4-5 days !!

How did you manage to get 4-5 Days? Already updated firmware through kies. (Unfortunately its still not 2.3.4) but although better, am just getting another 10%-15% longer battery life.

Did notice one thing though, if you switch off the data when not using it, the battery life can last 2 days easily on normal usage. From 100% at 6am to 85% at 3pm when I did that with quite minimal calls that day. Just long press on the power button and select on/off data. Or use a widget.

Oh, and don't forget to off wifi, bluetooth, gps etc. when not using. Runnin background apps still drains battery.

Will appreciate if there are any other ways.

Juice Defender made a huge difference on my SGS2.
I use my phone a lot but I went from 3-4 hours to a whole day.

I ponied up and got Juice Defender Ultimate and it has more than doubled my battery life (shows X 2.31 in J.D app). And I use my phone and it's features quite heavily from video playback to wifi file transfers and just plain messing around.

I used to have to charge once or more times a day. Now, even with fairly heavy use, I can get nearly 2 days. Lite use gets me nearly 3+, but that's real lite, without me touching it, or turning on the screen very minimal.

It's definitely worth the 4 bucks I paid for it. :)

I've heard from some other forum that 2.3.5 finally fixed any battery problems for sgs2.

Heard the same. Even 2.3.4 supposedly improves battery. Unfortunately haven't updated yet since not available through kies in South East Asia. Unless you want to flash yourself. Not going for that yet since actually manage to get 1 day moderate to heavy use out of current configuration on 2.3.3

Cheers

Sorry bring this post back but just wondering if updating using Kies actually does improve battery life or is there something more I should do with my Galaxy Sii?

Love the phone but honestly I cannot get a full day without having to re-charge it!!
