Help Samsung Galaxy S - Frozen from Cache Wipe

DSoup

Lurker
I had my phone slow down substantially this week so I went to wipe my cache from the recovery mode screen. I definitely selected wipe cache partition but when I did it the screen went to the android guy with an exclamation point in a triangle and has been like this for 45 minutes.

I'm not sure if I should just leave it or try and restart it.

I am running stock Froyo 2.2 and yes I know it's an antique!

Any advice would be appreciated.

Let's try this: pull out the battery to get the phone to shut off.
Then, place the battery back in the battery compartment, and with the phone still turned off, plug it in and charge it all the way up to 100%. Leave it turned off until it's fully charged.

Lastly, let's turn on the phone. If the wipe cache process hasn't completed, it will complete on its own after you turn the phone on. Please be patient, because this could take up to five minutes to complete.
