what is the white no entry sign on the samsung galaxy s mean ? the sign is beside the clock. how to remove the sign ?

The white no-entry sign means " No Signal ". Check your SIM card is fitted ( correctly ). It may be because you are in a no signal area.

As explained above, it means you have lost your signal to the network. This could be a fault with the network, you're in an area with poor/no reception or the SIM is faulty/loose. Try taking the battery out while the phone is switched ON then check the SIM while you have access to it. Give it a wipe to remove any dust that may have accumulated on the SIM and blow out any dust from the SIM holder on the phone.
