My old galaxy mark 1 only required me to enter a four digit pin each time it restarted, I would like this again. How do I do that on the S3. What are peoples experiences of the encyption options. :)

To get to the security settings for a lock screen go into:

Settings > Interface > Lock Screen > Screen Security > Then switch it to whatever method you want it to...Slide/Face Unlock/Pattern/PIN, which i believe pin is the one you are looking for.

Hope this helps!

Thank you had done that, but that means entering the code every time the screen 'awakes', so many times in a day. My old galaxy only required the code at powering up, so if battery stayed charged and S1 didnt restart for some obscure reason I could go days without entering the code again. However if some 'oik' got hold of my phone turned off entered gis sim and re-started he presto pin request. I think its the encryption method but a little wary (software upgrade S1 completely ruined my music library) so really looking to see if there are any negative observations from others on doing this.

I have my Internal memory encrypted and leave my SD card alone and put all my music on it. Seems to work pretty good from my experience.
