Help Samsung Galaxy s3

I have a Samsung galaxy s3 through att. Love this phone but... everytime I get a notification during a phone call it plays the ringtone and drowns out my call. Every other phone ive had automatically silenced it. Can anyone please tell me how to fix this? Its annoying!

Open the phone dialer and then tap the Menu soft key and select >Settings>Call settings. Now select Call alert and un-check Alerts on call.
