Help Samsung Galaxy S5 G-900FD

Hello,
I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 G-900FD running Android 4.4.2.

I love me phone but I can not figure out one thing regarding contacts, my phone service provider loads services onto my phone as phone numbers. I.E Balance, A contact for the provider, A customer care phone number and a top up phone number.

By default the images for these are the standard phone image of a person and what I want to be able to do is replace them with an image for my provider - how can I do this, I have it figured out for a regular human being but the option that lets you take a camera photo, crop it and use it for a picture is missing.

Does it not have the option to select an image from the gallery instead? Then if you put whatever image you want on the phone you can select it that way.

It has that option for generally added contacts but the ones from the service provider the options simply aren't there I.E if the service provider is vodaphone you would have
Vodaphone customer service
Vodaphone voice mail
Top Up

These sorts of things I would like to be able to give the Vodaphone image as opposed as the default image provided under android which is the outline of a person.

My guess is that the carrier has locked those contacts in some way so that people can't erase them, and a side effect is that you can't edit them either.

I don't think my carrier does this, but I don't buy carrier modified phones so might just be unaware (even if I buy contract phones I do so through someone like CPW who use unbranded & unlocked handsets).

No I specifically made sure that my phone was unlocked, its the sim I put in the phone that added the entries but I cant edit them for some reason in the respect of there images.

Ah, are they stored as SIM contacts? SIM storage is very limited, and won't support contact pictures. That would be a much simpler answer than the network having some clever way of locking a contact. ;)

Can you copy/import them to the phone (as phone or Google contacts), then add a picture, then set the phone to only show phone or Google contacts? As long you don't have any other contacts stored on the SIM that would work (if you do then maybe linking the copy on the phone to the one on the SIM would mean you saw just one contact with the network icon when you looked in your phonebook).
