Help Samsung Galaxy S5 help

A few days ago, I sold my Samsung Galaxy S5 to someone that I found on craigslist. Before I handed him the phone, I factory reset it and it asked me to enter a passcode twice for verification.

I have another S5 and I checked if it would ask me to create a passcode to factory reset it and it did not.

What did I do?

He is going to ship the phone overseas anyways so will it have any problems?

EDIT: I found out why it's asking for PIN/PASSCODE now. It's because I had no SIM card inside the Samsung Galaxy S5. Now will there be any problems when he use the phone? (Example: performing a factory reset)

Once it performs the factory reset, it will not have any passcodes in it.

I think you must have set a pincode/passcode at one time on that S5.
Then when you tried to do the Factory Reset, it wanted to verify that you actually meant to do that.

I think he will be okay.
