Samsung Galaxy S5 Issue.

So, my phone Samsung Galaxy S5 had problems before but not like last week. For example, I had to put the charger cord in a certain direction in order for it to charge, or the phone would die before reaching 0, which it would die at 28 at the most. Now last week, I charged it and I heard this sizzle noise coming from it. I un-plugged it as fast as I could. The charger was all burnt and had the smell of like burning, so did the charging port on my phone. Not even 4 minutes later my phone died so, I got another Samsung S5, and I totally forgot to convert my contacts, data, and photos. I'm not worried of the burning phone anymore, just that how do I convert my data now? and now my dad wants to fix the phone and use it for himself, so my main questions are:
  • What's going on with the burning phone?
  • How do I convert the data to my new phone?
  • Will I have to fix it in order to convert the data?

Hi, you could try putting the battery out of your new phone into the old one and if it boots up save everything to Samsung Smart Switch on your computer, then refit the battery in your new phone and download everything. Phil

Hi, you will lots of threads on here about this issue, it appears that a sharp rap on on a table or suchlike usually fixes it. Phil
