The power button on the device is not functional as of yesterday. Am I able to resolve this issue or is there an alternative button I am able to utilize?

The S2 only has 1 power button, if broken you have a hard brick due to hardware failure.

Try popping out your battery for 15 seconds, if your phone won't reboot check your charging cords and connections.
