Samsung galaxy tab E

Hey, I have a problem with my tablet. I rooted my tablet and it was working fine. Then I somehow lost root. I tried to restart my tablet. It would go to the start screen and stop. I can boot it in twrp but that is as far as I can get. It says no OS now. I need a custom recovery to get it back going. thanks

It does sound like the OS is hosed. Probably your next best option is to just flash the stock ROM to get it working again (returning it to its original, non-rooted state). Then root it again.

Yeah. Trying to figure out how to do that. The computer won't recognize the tablet now. Could I put it on a sd card and then install using twrp. Do you know a link I can get a OS. I try to download one but then I can't find it on my computer. Im relatively new at this.

What's the exact model I.D. of your Tab E?
What software were you using on your PC to flash your Tab? (presumably Odin? Heimdall?)
What version of Android was your Tab running and which version of Windows is your PC running?

Try removing whichever utility you were using from your PC, and reboot your PC. If your Tab isn't mounting properly it's most likely a driver issue but if you have competing programs (i.e. Kies and Odin) this often creates a conflict as both utilities are trying to use the same system resources to link to your Tab (probably a USB matter). Also, if you've been plugging your Tab into a USB hub, try plugging it directly into a USB port on your computer.
You might want to first try using Smart Switch to restore your Tab. This may or may not work in this situation but it's worth a try, and being Samsung software it's useful to have as a maintenance and back up utility for your Tab. It also installs a valid, current Samsung driver, which might help with basic USB connectivity issues.

If Smart Switch doesn't fix your problem, you'll have to resort to manually re-flashing your Tab. Install the Odin utility, instead of using the most recent version try using a version that matches up with what your version of Android your Tab is running. Odin has backwards compatibility issues so the latest version might not work as well with older hardware/software. Download the version that's appropriate for your situation from here:

To get the necessary ROM for your Tab, try going here:
https://updato.com/firmware-archive-select-model?q=GALAXY+Tab+E&exact=1&r=&v=&rpp=100
Find the ROM that matches your Tab E model I.D exactly, do not mix-and-match. Samsung stock ROMs are not interchangeable. Download the file (probably over 1GB) and follow these step-by-step instructions on the process:
https://updato.com/how-to/how-to-install-an-official-samsung-stock-firmware-using-odin
By flashing a stock ROM this will restore it to its original, un-rooted state, along with restoring a stock Recovery. So you'll need to go through the process of rooting it again and installing TWRP.

Ok. Thanks for your help. I will start from the beginning. I have a Samsung Galaxy tab E SM-T560NU(Walmart). I rooted with Oden3 v3.12.3. SR5-superSu v.2.82. I have twrp_3.0.2-1_sm-t560nu. I successfully rooted the tablet. I was installing some root apps when I noticed I no longer had root. I tried to reboot the tablet but it was stuck at the logo screen. I can boot into the TWRP screen. I wasn't sure so I must have erased my OS when wiping. The computer doesn't recognize my tablet when using USB. So I have been putting operating systems on the SD card that's for my tablet. The lineage system says unknown tablet. The official releases it says signature not verified. I was running 7.1.1. I'm using a Windows 10 computer. Thanks and let me know if I have forgotten anything.

Well it makes no difference what utility you use, until you get your tablet to mount properly again, nothing will work out. The operating system on your PC (in this case Windows) has to be able to detect and mount your device before any application will even be able to connect to it. Focus on your computer, not the Odin, that's the issue at hand.
Completely uninstall any previous utilities like Smart Switch, Kies, Odin, Heimdall, or whatever else you tried. Go into the Device Manage and manually remove any Samsung-USB driver. Then reboot your PC -- don't skip that step, you want a clean start before proceeding. (You might also want to reboot your tablet, even if you can only get into Download Mode.)
Now install Smart Switch on your PC (which will install the proper driver). Again, if you're using a USB hub, temporarily disconnect it and just plug your tablet directly into your PC. You might also want to try using a different USB cable -- if you've been using a different one, use the cable that was working previously. Once your tablet is mounting again normally, see if Smart Switch can restore your tablet. If not quit the app (and again check the Task Manager to be sure the process isn't running in the background). Install the appropriate Odin utility -- i.e. if you're going to use Marshmallow, use ver. 3.11.1 -- and go through the flashing process.

Ok I was wondering. I will give it a try. I am new at this. I am going to go step by step with what you have here. Hope you can continue to help me.

You apparently have multiple issues going on, strongly suggest you focus on each one individually, and sequentially, to get everything working properly first.

I went through the steps and downloaded smart switch. It still not recognizing the tablet. I rebooted the tablet and it goes to the TWRP page. What can I try now. I also rebooted the computer

That is true. I can get to the TWRP. What I have tried is putting the zip on the SD card. I have tried Lineage and the original OS. I tried to flash it but it won't let me. It either said signature not signed or device unknown.

Hey. I got it in download mode. Will this help any? It says at the top left corner oden mode

You really need to go back and read through those links I posted previously. There's is no simple solution that you're seeking, and things do need to be done in a sequential order. Read through that article on how to use Odin to flash the ROM, get that concept into your head, and then just follow the directions (one at a time, and don't skip any or try to take shortcuts) to do the actual process.
