Hi, My Samsung Galaxy Y with GiffGaff is not receiving texts, my phone sounds the text alert but no texts arrive. Please help; I run my life by texting!

Hi there and welcome to Android Forums. 
Might be an odd answer but is there an upper limit to the number of texts you can have stored? Maybe delete some older texts and see if that helps.
Try clearing data and cache too. Make sure you have backed up your texts though. I use My Backup Pro - Play Store to do that and it's worked pretty well for me.
