Help Samsung GT-I5800 ringer volume

I recently got a Samsung Galaxy Apollo GT-I5800 and the ringer volume starts really quite for the first couple of seconds before ringing at the correct volume. Can I change this so it rings loud to start with?

Whether you checked in Settings of your phone?

I've had a look in settings and as far as I can see you can only change the volume. I can't find any way of changing it from "increasing melody" to just "melody".

Have you figured this out? I have a GSIII that does the same thing. Annoying.
