Samsung GT-I5800

I have the Samsung Galaxy GT-I5800 using GSM SIM card by T-Mobile here in California.

This mobile phone is Android 2.1. Can you please tell me how to upgrade to Android 2.2? Where to get this firmware? Is your phone runs well?

Is your GPS operate correctly and within reasonable speed?

I am getting a new 8GB flash card.
For backup and emergency, can you please tell me how I can reload the entire software for this phone?
