Samsung i7500 unable to display the Network ID

I have the i7500 with WING Mobile (Canadian carrier). I was unable to display the Network ID on permanent basis on my i7500. I can pull down the upper gray bar to read the notification which will give me the information (along with the date). Is there a way to display the network id permanently to know which network I am using?

thats the way Android does display carrier, you pull down the notification bar. I know that your asking how to display it permanently, but I just wanted to lat you know this isn't a bug.
