Help Samsung Indulge will not install apps from Google Play

Hello all

Recently Picked up an Samsung Indulge R910 off a police forfit auction, and have a strange issue with it.

I buy andorid phones like this all the time, I use the more for the cameras, games, and as e-reader. I do not acctivate them with there network, as i do not want to pay for a data plan. I have a wifi network set up at home. I have a few Phones around and never seen this issue.

It will not install apps from the google play store, it will download them but get the to the 100% mark and gose to install, gives me an error. I will download from the Metro PCS app store and install them.

It was stock when i was doing this, or at least as far as i can tell. the easy wi-fi keeps scanning for networks all the time, not sure if thats normal for metro psc.

I had done the All In One and Clockwork root for Indulge with no issues and still had the error come up. I did the Basix 1.0 rom flash and STILL would not download from google app store. It will surf the web, but wil not download apps. I re-flashed the rom, formated the sd card, used a diffrent sd card, redownloade the rom for K0nane's links to download from, still would not download from google app store. I did the ODIN return to stock thead, and got it back to stock with a data wipe and all that, STILL will not install from google play store, but will from metro PCS Market

Any thoughs on this, it got me stumped! Its a decent device and would love for my son to have it to use for his games and reading, so he would stop using my Droid 4 all the time!

It might be a thing with the device build.prop not allowing you to download from the market.

I have no experience with Metro nor that device, so I could be wrong. :o

Try going into Settings / apps / Google Play and clear the cache and the data.

Then Settings / apps / Google Services Framework and clear the cache and the data. See if that does anything.

You really covered your bases with all you did above. Since you flashed new Roms went back to stock etc, I'm going to assume its a Metro thing with that device.

I'd re-root it and switch the build.prop to show a different device and see if that will work.

hmmm, one thing i'm noticeing, is that the deveice has google market on it, not google play, not seeint this thing doing the update to from market to play, might this be causing the issus?

The only way that I have found to fix it is the following method. It works EVERY TIME now, when before, it didnt work at all:

-Be near an available wifi connection

-turn on Airplane Mode

-turn on wifi and log onto that wifi network

-install what you want from the market/play store

Then after your stuff is installed, you can turn off Airplane mode.

That will for sure fix it. Everything installs fine for me after I started doing this.
