Help Samsung Mesmerize 2.3.4 running slowly after z4root

I decided to try and root my phone with z4root. All of the forum posts i've read talked about using it. So I ran it on my samsung mesmerize with the 2.3.4 gingerbread software. Now my phone runs very slowly. According to android assistant, my CPU usage spikes from 20% to 84% rapidly. Please, if anyone knows how to fix this, let me know thanks so much in advance

A battery pull put my mesmerize back to normal.

I'm amazed that you were able to get z4root to root 2.3.4, since it was built for 2.1, and hasn't been supported in over a year. You didn't read any other forum posts that told you that in all of your reading?

My guess is your phone is running slowly because z4root didn't actually root anything.
