Hello to all,

I newly bought a Samsung 10.1 Note Tablet (N8005) excited to use S-Pen. However, in my tablet it does not recognize the "Return/Delete/leave blank, etc." kind of strokes. For example when I write an inverted "L" as "return/Next line" stroke, it does not care about my stroke and it writes "y" or "j" sometimes... Or when I strike-through one letter at the end of my word, it only inserts "-" bu does not delete the letter I want.

Also, when I detach the S-Pen, it does not show the quick menu or launch SNote or other applications that I set in the settings menu for S-Pen Detach....

I am a bit disappointed for this performance and terribly seeking for assistance. Thanks for your help...

Hi Taner, welcome to Android Forums. :)

Do the other 'gesture recognitions' work?

It seems that there is a steep learning curve for the S-Pen so stick with it. Some people have reported that some gestures work whilst others don't and this is down to how each individual writes, rather than a fault with the device. I guess you just need to train yourself to use the methods that the device recognises, even if they are slightly different from the way you normally write.

Furthermore, it seems that a lot of apps are glitchy with the S-Pen input anyway, so you might not get the best results with these apps.

Try using S-Pen Launcher - Play Store or Note Buddy - Play Store and see if they improve your experience when detaching/attaching the S-Pen too.

The how-to guide on the Samsung site might possibly offer some information of which you were previously unaware.

Hello again,

I decided to register to forum, so officially thank you for welcoming me...

No, not any of them.. I think it is something software-ish... :)

I wrote like million type of different thing and in different language, it does not work...

I worked with S-Pen Launcher and it works perfect... And quick-launch is not something very important to me since when I detach my S-Pen it unlocks the main screen and there is SNote already. But important thing for me that it should recognize my gestures because it is very inconvenient to press "Return" or "Delete" every time while writing.

Also, it explains every detail how to use the pen in tablet's help page, but when it comes to reality it does not work. It is really awful...

I have a note 10.1, so I was able to do a little testing. The only place I was able to use s-note specific gestures was in the handwriting panel. You go into "Text mode" and it brings up a keyboard. If you tap and hold on the microphone, you get the option to select the handwriting panel. Within that panel, you can use several editing gestures as you are writing.

This is a good YouTube video that goes into detail about how to use it.

Hope it helps!

P.S. I haven't figured out how to embed videos yet, so I can only give you a link.

This worked!!! Awesome!!

I dont know why they hide this so deep that it is hard to find.

Million thanks!!!
